The 1990's generation or promotion (in Romanian: generația/promoția nouăzecistă) was active during the late 1980's and the 1990's; most writers associated with it (with the notable exception of Cristian Popescu) are still active today. Some (like Alexandru Musina) consider it a late wave/promotion of the 1980's generation, others (like Marin Mincu and Stefania Mincu) consider it distinctive from both generations that precede and follow it. Considering the numerous similarities, it could be considered simply a transitional wave.
