Alexandru Lungu (b. 13 April 1924, Cetatea Albă - d. 24 June 2008, Bonn, Germany) was a Romanian poet, painter and doctor.
His first poems were published in the magazine Prepoem. In 1940-1941, he co-edited (with Ion Caraion) Caietele de poezie Zarathustra. He receives in 1945 the Ion Minulescu Award for the debut volume Ora 25. He also published poems at the time in Revista Fundațiilor Regale, Curentul literar, Claviaturi etc.
After being banned for two decades, he returns with the 1968 volume Dresoarea de fluturi ("The Butterfly Tamer Lady"). After four more volumes, he leaves Romania in 1973 for Germany - as a consequence, he is banned for yet another two decades. Several anthologies of his poems were published after 1989.
