Liviu Ioan Stoiciu (b. 19 February 1950, Dumbrava Roșie, Neamț) is a contemporary Romanian poet, novelist and playwright associated with the 1980's generation. Although he published his first poems in 1967 (in the Bacău newspaper Steagul Roșu), his mature debut is marked by the cycles Balans published in Caietul debutanților 1977 and Cantonul 248 in Caietul debutanților 1978 and the volume La fanion (1980, Romanian Writers' Union Debut Award). He has published more than 15 volumes of poetry (many of which achieved critical acclaim and awards), 4 novels, 2 journals and a volume of plays.
